Got chewed out by a supervisor in the Gulf for taking too long on a weld prep
I was 80 feet down on a platform leg in the Gulf last July, grinding a flange for a tie-in, and my supervisor started screaming over the comms that I was wasting air... Turns out he wanted me to skip the full grind and just use a wire wheel for a quick pass, but I was following the spec sheet he gave me that morning. Has anyone else had a surface supervisor change the plan mid-job without telling the guys underwater first?

3700 psi of seawater outside and he's worried about your air consumption on a wire brush job. Guess the spec sheet was just decorative that morning.

lol "decorative that morning" is brutal but probably accurate. I heard some sup on the radio once yelling at a guy for breathing too heavy while he was chipping rust at 80 feet. Like sorry we're not all operating on idle mode down here boss.

Wake up and realize this micro-managing stuff seeps into every damn job, @julia_patel.
