Just switched from a standard dive knife to a line cutter for most jobs

Used to carry a big blade for everything, but last month in Tampa I got tangled in some old monofilament. The cutter got me free in seconds, way faster than trying to saw through it. Anyone have a favorite brand for these?

What kind of line cutter did you end up with? Honestly, I keep a small one on my BCD strap now too, just in case.

Tbh "just in case" is the scuba motto. I went with the cheapest one that looked like it could cut butter.

Totally agree about keeping one on the BCD strap! I did the same after a close call with some fishing line in a lake. I keep a little black one right on my shoulder strap where I can't miss it. It just gives you so much more peace of mind.
