PSA: If you're still doing your pre-dive checks from memory, you're gonna have a bad day
3 months ago I watched a guy on a dock in Morgan City skip his gear log because he'd done the same dive 'a thousand times.' Cost him a flooded helmet and an aborted job. Last week I ran a check on a 4 inch suction line and found a cracked flange fitting I'd have missed if I wasn't writing it down. Takes 90 seconds. How many of you actually keep a written pre-dive sheet vs just eyeballing it?
