Tried using a new underwater epoxy on a hull patch job in Tampa
Honestly, I was working on a small boat hull in Tampa Bay last week and grabbed this new fast-set epoxy from the shop. Mixed it exactly like the tube said, 1 to 1, and got it on the patch. Ngl, it set up way too fast, like in under two minutes, and I couldn't smooth it out properly. Ended up with a lumpy mess I had to grind off and redo with my old stuff. Has anyone else had a bad time with a fast-set adhesive in cold water?

Yeah, that humidity basically turns the pot life on the label into a total lie.

Sounds like that epoxy was in a bigger hurry to set than I am to leave a bad party. Two minutes is barely enough time to panic and drop your mixing stick in the water. Bet the stuff was sweating in the tube just thinking about Tampa Bay.
