A client's sharp words about my cable work made me rethink my whole approach
I was finishing a build for a regular client, a small office in Tacoma, and thought my cable routing was fine. She pointed at the back of the tower and said, 'That looks like a rat's nest. How am I supposed to add anything?' That hit me hard. The next day, I spent 30 bucks on a pack of velcro straps and started leaving a full 6 inches of slack on every power and data cable before tying it down neatly. Now, future upgrades or swaps are simple. What's your go-to method for making service loops that don't look messy?

Yeah, isn't it wild how one comment can totally change your whole setup like that?

Oh man, that six inches is a great start, but honestly, that's still pretty tight. I aim for a full service loop, like a big "U" shape tucked behind the case panel. It gives you way more slack to actually work with if a connector fails or you need to reroute later.

Wait, you can actually fit a full U shape of extra cable behind the panel? My case is packed so tight back there I struggle to close it with just the normal slack.
