Client quote replayed in my head for two days straight
Last Tuesday I was swapping out a dead power supply for a client, and she watched me work for a minute before saying, "You make it look so simple, like it's not even a job." It hit different because I've spent 15 years in this trade fixing other people's mysterious beeps and black screens, and I guess I forgot how much invisible troubleshooting actually goes into a 20 minute repair. She meant it as a compliment, but it made me wonder if I've been underselling my own process to myself. Anyone else get thrown off when a customer casually summarizes your whole career like that?

Honestly, that's the thing about this trade, people only see the finished job and never the years of weird shit you had to learn to get there. Next time someone says that, just lean into it and say "took a lot of practice and even more cussing," it breaks the tension and reminds you both it aint magic.
