I finally swapped thermal paste on a 6 year old laptop and dropped temps by 15 degrees

Had this old Dell Latitude from 2018 that was constantly hitting 95c under load. Fans sounded like a jet engine. Last week I cracked it open and the old paste was basically dust. Put some Arctic MX-4 on it and now it sits around 80c. Did a $7 fix really save me from buying a new laptop? Has anyone else put off maintenance way too long?

Lol that's still cheaper than the therapy I need after ignoring my own laptop for 5 years

Actually laptops from like 2018 or earlier are stuck with Windows 10 since they don't meet the requirements for 11. So they're basically time bombs at this point lol.
