Just hit my 1,000th ransomware removal this morning

I was cleaning out my ticket logs from the last 4 years and the number popped up. 1,000 ransomware jobs done. That's about one every 35 hours if you do the math. Most of them were from people clicking fake shipping links or opening sketchy invoice attachments. Has anyone else tracked their numbers and been surprised by what adds up?

Fake shipping links are probably 60% of my volume too. Those "your package needs re-delivery" texts get people every time. I always tell clients to just check their tracking numbers on the official site instead of clicking any link in a text. The invoice attachments are brutal too, especially around tax season when people expect random docs from their CPA. Had one lady last month open a "final notice" attachment that nuked her entire accounting folder. Took me 6 hours to roll it back.

Yeah, that 'final notice' stuff is brutal. Reminds me of this guy who came in last month, his whole business was toast cause he clicked a link that said 'Unpaid Invoice - Legal Action Pending'. I don't do removal work, but I heard him telling the guy next to him about it. Said he lost like three years of client records. People really need to stop panic-clicking anything with the word 'urgent' in it.
