Just picked the $45 knockoff battery over the $120 OEM one for a customer's 2019 Dell, and wow, the readout tells a different story than my meter

If the smart readout on that Dell is showing "unknown" or giving you a weird capacity number, that's usually the chip inside the knockoff not talking to the BIOS right. I ran into that on a 2018 Latitude, the meter said 11.4V and full charge but Windows kept nagging about a non-genuine battery. It still ran fine for like 8 months then started dropping to 60 percent and shutting off with no warning. For a customer machine I'd have made them sign off on it, because when that thing dies early guess who gets blamed lol.
