Overheard a kid at Micro Center say 'why would you fix a computer when you can just buy a new one'
He was probably 19 and I wanted to sit him down and explain how learning to swap a PSU in a Dell from 2012 taught me more about troubleshooting than any YouTube video ever could, has anyone else noticed that whole generation just treats PCs like disposable phones?

Bet they're the same people who chuck a $40 router just cause it's slow, instead of swapping the thermal pads in the PSU for $5 and a soldering iron. Teaches you way more than a fresh Amazon order.

Right? I had an old Asus router that was running hot and dropping signal, swapped the thermal pads for like $8 and it ran perfect for another two years. Saved me from buying a whole new setup, did you find the pad swap pretty straightforward?
