Thought thermal paste was a scam until an old CPU ran 18 degrees cooler
For ages I figured the pre-applied stuff on coolers was good enough and anyone buying the fancy tubes was just wasting cash, but a friend's 10 year old i7 was throttling hard and a fresh $12 tube fixed it in one afternoon. Has anyone else had a stubborn machine surprise them like that, or am I just late to admitting the basics?
