Unpopular opinion: I started keeping a $5 USB fan in my toolkit after a server room in Omaha hit 90 degrees last month.

My buddy learned this the hard way when his AC died in a small office closet. He had a switch just cooking itself for like two hours before he could get a real fan in there. That little USB fan is a total lifesaver for spot cooling in a pinch, honestly a genius move. I keep one in my bag now too after hearing that story.

Yeah that "spot cooling in a pinch" is key. I've used a USB fan to blow air right across a hot router before, just propped it up on some books. You gotta aim it so the air actually moves over the hot parts, not just near them. Makes a huge difference.
