Update: the office cat unplugged a client's NAS and I had to explain the outage to a room of 8 lawyers
I was at a law firm in Hartford doing a RAM swap when their cat, Mittens, walked behind the rack and yanked the power cord on the Synology. I told the partners a breaker tripped because I was not about to blame a cat to their faces. Any of you keep a cheap lock or velcro strap on your rack cords just for pets?
Told the partners a breaker tripped" is the right call. Nobody wants to hear that a cat took down their case files. We had a similar thing with a golden retriever at a vet clinic, dog brushed the rack and popped a PDU. A little velcro wrap around the cord ends fixed it for good. Cheap and it takes ten seconds.
