Walked a retiree through a Linux install over the phone last Sunday
Guy was 72, wanted to revive an old laptop for his grandkid, and I spent 45 minutes talking him through partitioning a drive. He called me back after it booted and said 'I feel like I just built a car engine.' Have you ever helped someone who had zero tech background do something advanced, and what did you learn from it?

Yeah man, this is the stuff. Gets me every time how proud they get. Makes you realize how much we take for granted.

Helped my 68 year old neighbor set up a password manager after she got hacked last year lol. Took about an hour but I learned to slow way down and never assume they know what a "browser" is. She kept saying "the internet" for everything. What really worked was screen sharing on her phone and having her do the clicks herself instead of me doing it. By the end she was so proud she told me she finally felt safe online.
