Walked into a local repair shop today and wanted to scream
I stopped by this shop on Grand Ave this afternoon to grab a cheap SATA cable and the place was a disaster zone. There were like 30 towers stacked on the floor blocking the aisle, cables everywhere, and the guy behind the counter was trying to fix a laptop while eating a bag of chips with greasy fingers. I get that it's a busy Monday but come on man, wipe your hands at least. I saw a build with a power supply just sitting loose on top of the case, no screws, barely held in by the cables. It makes me wonder how many of those machines come back with fried parts a week later. Anyone else walk into a shop and just get a bad vibe from the setup? How do you guys keep your workspace from turning into a fire hazard?

Wait, eating chips with greasy fingers while working on someone's laptop? That's actually insane. I'd be worried about crumbs getting in the fan vents or that greasy residue all over the keyboard. And that power supply just sitting loose on top of the case, barely held by cables, that's a short waiting to happen. One bump and that thing could arc against the case or fall onto a motherboard. Honestly some of those shops just treat customer hardware like junk and it shows. Makes you wonder what their own builds look like at home.
