Warning: That thermal paste scam at Micro Center almost got me
Was at the Micro Center in Denver last week grabbing a new cooler and the guy at checkout tried to upsell me on some $30 'graphene' thermal paste. Looked it up on my phone and it's basically just rebranded cheap stuff with a fancy label. Anyone else run into these fake high-end thermal pastes at big retailers?

Oh man, that's shady. Graphene thermal paste is just marketing fluff.

72W/mK is more than twice what most decent pastes claim, so that's not nothing if the numbers hold up. I ran some tests on a friend's build with that Kryonaut graphene stuff and idle temps dropped by 3 degrees over standard paste. The real issue is whether the thermal conductivity translates to real world load performance, but the gap there is usually small anyway. If it works and doesn't pump out like some pastes do under heat cycles, I'd say it's worth trying over the usual $20 tubes.
