After 12 years of doing this, I'll take a laser screed over a traditional hand screed any day of the week

Saved me 3 hours on a 40-yard slab last Thursday and the finish was more level than anything I've ever gotten with my 2x4 crew. Anyone else made the switch and not looked back?

Manual finish still beats machine accuracy for me...

Can't believe you're saying that after seeing how flat laser screeds get a slab.

And following up on what @paige427 said about manual finish - I think there's a sweet spot where machine accuracy actually gives you a better surface to work with. On that 40-yard slab, the laser screed got it so flat that my float work was practically just cosmetic. The finish came out way smoother than when I'm fighting uneven spots from a hand job.
