Finally clocked 10,000 sq ft of broom finish in one pour last week
I always thought bigger pours meant more risk of cold joints, but after prepping the crew better and using a tighter timing plan, we pulled it off clean without any issues. Anyone else find that hitting a certain square footage changes how you plan your day?

...and here I thought my biggest achievement was not tripping over the hose, so congratulations on the 10k. That's legit. But yeah, I feel you, once you cross that 5,000 mark, the whole vibe changes. Suddenly you're not just thinking about the concrete, you're thinking about how fast your guys can move and if the truck shows up late, it's gonna be a bad time. Truth is, the bigger the pour, the more time I spend staring at my watch and praying my timing plan actually works.

Add a second finisher to your crew once you hit 6,000. Makes all the difference.

Did you stare at your watch so much it needs a chiropractor too? @the_xena is right about that second finisher, but my real secret is just threatening the truck drivers with a bad Yelp review if they're late. Works about half the time, but the other half I'm just pacing and sweating through my boots.
