Had a mud pump blow a hose fitting this morning, cost me 2 hours of cleanup
Was pouring a small driveway in Renton when the 2 inch fitting let go, sprayed sludge everywhere across the forms. Had to shovel out 3 wheelbarrows of wet mix before it set. Anybody else had luck switching to those brass quick-connects?

Toss those cheap brass fittings in the scrap bin and grab some camlock couplers instead. They're way faster to swap out when a hose blows, and the stainless steel ones don't corrode like brass does in wet concrete. I've had camlocks on my trucks for three years now, only had one leak and that was because I forgot to tighten it all the way. The initial cost stings a bit but you'll save that in cleanup time after the first blowout.

You had that one leak from not tightening it all the way, but did you ever have any issues with the camlock arms not locking tight after a bunch of use? I heard some guys say the springs wear out fast if you're swapping hoses all day, especially in the cold. Was that a problem for you, or do you think it depends on the brand of the couplers?
