Just realized the way I finish curbs now vs 20 years ago is night and day different

Back in the early 2000s, I used to hand trowel every single curb edge on big commercial jobs in Denver. Took forever, my wrist would ache by noon. Now I use a magnesium float with a bull float handle attachment for the main pass, then just a quick edge trowel at the end. Saves me at least 30 minutes per 100 feet of curb. The old guys I learned from would call it lazy, but hey, the finish is cleaner and I don't burn out by 2pm. Anyone else switch up their method over the years?

The_logan never worked a long commercial job then. A bull float beats a bad back every time.

Man, my wrist hurts just reading that. I feel you on the old school guys calling it lazy though, my uncle still gives me crap for not using a hand trowel on everything.
