My first solo pour on a garage pad went from a mess to a decent finish

Three weeks back I did a 20x22 slab for a neighbor and the surface looked like a washboard, full of ridges from my bull float work. Watched a video from that guy Mike Haduck where he said to keep the float flat and let the concrete do the work. Tried it again yesterday on a smaller stoop job and the difference was night and day, way smoother. Anyone got other tips for a new guy to get that cream up easier?

Oh man, you just let the weight do the work for you.
