Pro tip: I thought trowel machine floats were a sales gimmick until a pour in Fresno proved me wrong
Always figured a float pan was just something the tool rep pushed on new guys who couldn't read a slab. Then last April I had a 4,000 sq ft warehouse slab in Fresno and my arms were shot from hand floating the first half. My buddy handed me his 36 inch pan and told me to just try it on the last section. Finish came out flatter and I cut two hours off the pour. Now I'm wondering if I was an idiot for fighting it so long, or if pans are only worth it on big open slabs. What do you all run, pans on everything or still hand float the small stuff?
