Showerthought: I used to think a 6-foot bull float was the only way to go for a big pour.

After seeing a crew in Denver use a 10-footer on a 30-yard slab last year, I switched and cut my finishing time almost in half. Anyone else using longer floats now, or is that just a regional thing?

Man I was the same way, thought anything over 6 foot was just showing off. But you're right, once you try a longer float on a big slab it's a total game changer. The extra reach lets you cover so much ground without moving your feet constantly. It just makes the whole process smoother and way less tiring. I'm fully converted now, it's not just a regional thing it's just smart work.
