Spent 4 hours fighting a broom finish that kept tearing up on me

Turns out the concrete was starting to set too fast because it was 90 degrees and I didn't have my evaporation retarder mixed in. Has anyone else dealt with a finish going bad from the heat alone?

Oh man, that's rough. Four hours fighting a broom finish sounds like a nightmare. I guess concrete has its own opinion on the weather, huh? Did you at least get a solid finish in the end, or did you have to tear it out and start over?

Yeah I've been there too! What finally saved me was keeping a spray bottle of water handy to mist the surface when it started setting up too fast, just enough to keep it workable without flooding it.
