Switched from hand floats to a power trowel for my last 20-yard pour and cut finishing time by nearly half.

The slab came out flatter too with way less back-and-forth, has anyone else had trouble getting consistent results with hand tools on big pours?

You know what nobody talks about with power trowels is how they change your approach to the concrete mix itself. I had to tweak my slump and timing because the machine works different from hand floating. Too wet and it just smears everything, too dry and it chatters and leaves marks. Once I figured out the sweet spot though it was like a whole new world. Hand tools on big pours are just brutal on your body and your back, plus you never really get the same consistency across the whole slab. The power trowel just takes that guesswork out and lets you focus on the edges and corners instead of fighting the whole thing.

Ngl I went through the exact same thing. Had to back off my water by almost a gallon per yard before the machine stopped skating over the top. Once I dialed it in though, the finish was way better than anything I ever got on my knees.
