Everything went perfect on a slab pour in Phoenix" - man, that hits home. Working concrete in that August heat is brutal, I've seen crews just melt trying to keep things moving. One good pour where nothing cracks and nobody gets heat stroke feels like winning the lottery out there. Glad you got that rare clean run, because usually something goes sideways when the temp hits 110. That's a solid memory to hang onto.

Perfect pour like that" is exactly it. Best trick I ever learned was keeping a wet burlap over the cement bags and using ice in the water to slow the set just enough, gave us breathing room before the sun did its thing.

Man that week in August is like a miracle when it actually works out. @hayden_butler27 said it right, I've been on crews where we had to stop every twenty minutes just to get water and hide in the shade. I remember one time we had a perfect pour like that, same kind of deal, no cracks, no slump issues, just smooth sailing from start to finish. Its the kind of job you talk about for years because it almost never happens in that heat. Everyone just kind of looked at each other when it was done like did that really just go that well. Makes all the tough days worth it when you get one like that.
