The homeowner who asked why his driveway was two different colors
Poured a 40 foot driveway in Fresno last spring and the guy came out halfway through asking why one half looked lighter. I told him we switched from the borrowed trowel to my 36 inch mag after the first truck. After we finished he said it looked like two driveways glued together, and now I always bring two matching trowels no matter what. Anyone else had a homeowner watch the pour close enough to call out color shifts?

That "looked like two driveways glued together" line got me. Homeowners always spot the weirdest stuff, like they have radar for trowel changes. I had a guy measure the seam between pours with a tape measure once. If it's off by a hair, they'll let you know for years. Matching tools is the only way to go, learned that the hard way too.
