Fell for that $40 hydrogen water bottle scam last month

Saw an ad on Instagram claiming it would boost my energy and fix my sleep. Ordered one for $40 and drank from it for two weeks straight. Felt exactly the same as tap water, maybe even a little worse since the bottle leaked in my bag. Looked up the company and found out they had 3 different names on Amazon with the same product. A buddy in chemistry class showed me how hydrogen gas just bubbles out of water in seconds anyway. Anyone else get tricked by one of these pseudo-science water gadgets?

My buddy bought one and ended up using it as a regular water bottle after it leaked on his laptop.

Gotta correct you a tiny bit on the chemistry part. Hydrogen gas actually doesn't just bubble out instantly - it escapes pretty fast but it takes a few minutes for most of it to leave the water. The real issue is that our bodies barely absorb hydrogen gas from drinking it anyway. Your buddy was right that it's basically regular water after a short time, but the scam is more about the price and the ridiculous claims than the hydrogen sticking around. Still, $40 for a leaky bottle is rough.
