Had to pick between a $300 radar detector or just slowing down, and I picked the wrong one
Last month I got my third ticket in 14 months, all on the same 7 mile stretch of I-270 outside Columbus. So I stood in the Walmart aisle and picked between dropping $300 on a fancy radar detector or just setting my cruise control 5 under the limit like a normal person. I picked the detector, thinking I was beating the system. Got hit by laser two weeks later and the thing never made a peep. Has anyone actually had one of these work, or is it just a $300 plastic box that makes you feel safe while you speed?
