Hot take: the moon landing coverage switch happened right after the 1969 broadcast
I pulled old TV guides from 1968 and 1970 at the library. The amount of live space coverage dropped by about 60% overnight. NASA feeds went from prime time to 2 AM filler slots. The official story says public interest waned, but that timing is too perfect. A friend in broadcast says the signal quality also got worse right then. What changed in those 14 months that made them pull back so hard? Has anyone else looked at the actual broadcast logs?

Did you check if the broadcast quality dip matches a specific switchover date? Because if the signal degraded at the exact same time the slots moved, that's not just audience drop-off. That's a deliberate pullback, and those 14 months are way too convenient.
