Picked the $6 gas station flashlight over my $40 headlamp for a cave trip

Got to the site near Flagstaff and my headlamp battery was dead, grabbed the cheap one on a hunch. It lasted the whole 3 hour crawl and the beam held up better than I expected. Anyone else trust the cheap backup over the 'pro' gear in a pinch?
