Unpopular opinion: switching our crew from paper plans to tablets cut our RFI turnaround from 3 days to 4 hours
Two weeks ago we tested iPads loaded with PlanGrid on a 12,000 sq ft medical office build in Boise, and the super caught a duct/beam clash on day one that would've cost us a $6,800 rework, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has seen field crews actually keep the tablets charged past week two or if that's where this whole thing falls apart.
How'd you get guys to actually plug them in every night though? We tried tablets on a job last year and by week three half of them were dead by lunch. If you figure out a charging setup that survives a real crew, that's the part worth writing down.
