Can we talk about how nobody in my neighborhood returns shopping carts anymore, and honestly I get it now?
Three weeks ago I stood in the parking lot of the Kroger on Dupont Ave watching a guy leave his cart right against my car door, and I almost said something. Here is the split: half of you will say returning the cart is the bare minimum of being a decent person, it takes 12 seconds, no excuse. The other half says the store pays people to do that, the lot is a mess anyway, and after paying $87 for groceries nobody owes Kroger free labor. I used to be hardcore team return it, but after watching how beat up those cart corrals get I am honestly not sure anymore. Where do you all land on this, does it actually say something about a person or is it just not that deep?
Wait, someone actually left a cart right against your car door and just walked off? That would send me over the edge, because now you either move their cart or you risk scratching your own paint and it's not even your mess. Honestly that one move tells me way more about a person than whether they walk the cart back to the corral.
