I wasted $80 on a fancy coffee grinder that couldnt do the job right

Bought a burr grinder from a well-known brand thinking it would give me consistent grounds for my morning pour-over. After three months of uneven grinds and a broken plastic part inside, it was basically useless. Anyone else have a kitchen gadget that turned out to be more trouble than it was worth?

Yeah this is part of something bigger I've noticed where companies just assume we'll throw money at the problem instead of making stuff that works. Same thing happened with my blender - paid double for one with a "diamond infused" blade and the motor burned out in six months while my old cheap Oster is still going after 10 years. They're all playing the same game now where fancy features replace actual quality control and durability. My buddy spent $200 on a wifi toaster that stopped connecting to the app after the first firmware update. Just let me make toast without needing a software patch you know?

A wifi toaster?? That's just begging for trouble lmao. $200 for something that needs firmware updates to toast bread is wild.

Used to think spending more meant getting better quality with kitchen gear, but that grinder failure totally flipped my thinking. My old $30 blade grinder was inconsistent but at least it didn't break after a few months. Now I'm stuck looking for a replacement and wondering if I should just go back to the cheap one. What's the point of paying extra if the fancy thing can't even last through a season of morning coffee?
