My new phone's voice assistant just called my boss a liar

Last Tuesday I got a new phone and tried to set up the voice assistant on my way to work. I said something to it about my schedule, and it loudly repeated back a wrong name for a client meeting. When I said "no, that's not right," the thing replied "are you sure? your boss said otherwise" in front of my whole car. I got to the office and my boss heard about it from a coworker who was in the parking lot. Now I have to explain to everyone that I didn't program it to be rude, it just glitched. I've spent two days turning off every voice feature I can find. Has anyone else had a smart device make you look bad at the worst possible time?

Laughing at this because my smart speaker once told my mom I was "at the gym" when I was actually still in bed at 10am. She called me out in front of the whole family dinner and I had to pretend the wifi was messing up. The worst part is these things always pick the most embarrassing moment to go rogue, like they smell fear or something. I swear my phone has a personal vendetta against me ever since I dropped it in a puddle last winter. Now I just keep every voice feature off unless I'm home alone with the doors locked. I mean, maybe it's just me but I'd rather type everything out than risk my tech calling me out on my own lies again.
