Okay, I'll admit it: I had fun in a city everyone mocks

Just spent a few days in Brussels for a family event. I know people joke about it, but the art and chocolate were honestly great. Maybe it's just me, but do you ever like places that aren't cool?

Yeah people dunk on Brussels but I had a great weekend there too. Felt the same way about Cleveland last year, just leaned into the weird museums and had a blast.

Brussels is solid if you ignore the talk. Most places are fine once you tune out the noise people make.

Assume we should just ignore all the bad talk about a place. Sometimes that talk is there for a reason, and tuning it out just means you're okay with putting up with stuff that's actually not fine. Not every city gets a bad rap for no reason. Feels like a quick fix for a problem that might be real.
