People keep saying you need to be 100% sure before you post a take, and that's just wrong.
I see it all the time in this community, folks saying you need to have all the facts lined up and a bulletproof argument. I posted a thought about public transit funding in my city, Portland, just based on my daily bus ride being late for a month. Someone jumped in with a bunch of budget stats I didn't have, acting like I shouldn't have spoken up at all. The point is to start the talk, not end it. Has anyone else felt pressured to have a PhD in a topic before you're allowed to have a hot take?

Forget the PhD, you need a law degree to defend your take these days. People treat casual posts like they're expert witness testimony in court.

Honestly wadekim, maybe we should back up our casual takes a bit more, it makes the convo better lol.

Tell me about it. Saw a guy get torn apart for saying he liked a movie. People pulled up box office numbers and critic reviews like it was a murder trial. Can't even say "this pizza place is good" without someone demanding your sources. Feels like every opinion needs a full report attached now, it's wild.
