Showerthought: why do people act like all-purpose cleaner works on every surface in a house?

I used a generic spray on my granite countertops last week and now there's a dull patch the size of my hand, so has anyone else found out the hard way that you really need separate products for stone, wood, and glass?

Who actually reads the bottle before spraying stuff around their kitchen?

grant.nina i used to be the same way until i mixed up windex and pledge and had a greasy streaky mess all over my countertops. now i at least glance at the label to see if it says "do not use on granite" or whatever. saved me from ruining my countertops more than once honestly.
