TIL that writing a book by hand first is way better than just typing it out
I tried both ways for a project last month, and the handwritten draft had way more good ideas (like 30% more, I counted). Typing straight to the screen just makes my brain go blank. Anyone else find they think better with a pen?

My friend Sarah tried writing a script for a short film two different ways. She did the first draft on her laptop and got maybe 10 pages before she hit a wall. Then she grabbed a notebook and rewrote the whole thing by hand. She ended up with 22 pages and said the dialogue actually sounded like real people talking. She told me the pen slows her down enough to think before she writes. Now she refuses to start any project without a legal pad first.
