Unpopular opinion: most 'organic' labels are just marketing fluff

I was reading a report from Consumer Reports last month. Found out that organic produce still allows over 20 synthetic pesticides. Blew my mind. The label makes you feel like you're buying pure nature, but it's not that simple. Has anyone else looked into what these certifications actually mean?

Wait, isn't the whole point of organic supposed to be no synthetic pesticides at all? That's kind of a bummer.

Yeah it's a bummer for sure... I've been buying organic for years and learned the hard way that they can still use stuff like copper sulfate or neem oil. Those are natural but can still mess with bugs and soil. Best way around it is to look for the "Certified Organic" label from USDA and then also check for the "Non-GMO Project Verified" tag if you're really worried. Also washing everything with a little vinegar water helps get any residue off, even from organic stuff. Just gotta accept there's no perfect option but it's still way better than conventional.
