Warning: My uncle's "fun" conspiracy rants at Thanksgiving drove 3 family members to leave early, and I finally said something
Two years ago my uncle started sharing flat earth videos at every family dinner, and it was annoying but harmless. Last Thanksgiving at my parents' place in Ohio, he spent 45 minutes telling my cousin's wife that the moon landing was faked and that she was brainwashed by NASA. She grabbed her coat and left before pie, and my aunt followed her out. I told him he was ruining the night, and he called me a sheep. Now nobody wants to host, and we're doing a restaurant this year. Has anyone else had to draw a line with a family member's wild theories at the dinner table?
