Was dead set against meal prep services until my sister signed me up
I thought those HelloFresh type boxes were just for rich people who can't cook. But my sister got me a 3 week subscription for my birthday back in February. After the first week I realized I was actually eating vegetables I'd never buy myself and not tossing out half my groceries every Sunday. Anyone else have a service or product they were totally wrong about?

Isn't it funny how we all have these stubborn assumptions about stuff (like meal kits being bougie) until life basically forces us to try them and we realize they actually solve problems we didn't even know we had?

Three weeks in and I was still throwing out half the herbs because the portions were way too specific for one person. The whole thing felt more like a chore than a solution since I had to cook dinner every single night or the ingredients would go bad. Honestly it just made me realize I prefer my old system of eating leftovers and frozen stuff most days.

I read somewhere that something like 60% of people who try meal kits actually end up cooking more at home, which surprised me. My sister told me that stat after she signed me up, and I figured she was just justifying the expense. But now I get it - having the ingredients right there with a recipe card takes away that whole "I don't know what to make" decision paralysis. I still use them occasionally when I'm stuck in a cooking rut, just to mix it up with stuff I'd never grab at the store.
