Wasted $200 on a fancy air purifier that did nothing for my allergies
I bought a top of the line air purifier last winter thinking it would finally stop my morning sneezing fits. After 3 months of running it 24/7 in my bedroom, my symptoms were exactly the same. Turns out my main allergy is to grass pollen that gets tracked in on clothes and shoes. The thing just sits in the corner now collecting dust. Has anyone else fallen for a pricey fix that missed the real problem?

Sticking a bandaid on a broken leg would've been cheaper

Why not just leave the broken leg alone and hope it heals on its own? That's what these people are saying basically, right? The stimulus checks were a tiny drop in a huge bucket, but the pandemic itself was like a freight train derailment. You can't compare a one-time payment to the cost of shutting down whole industries, paying unemployment for months, and propping up businesses that were bleeding cash. If we did nothing, you'd have had people starving in the streets and the whole economy would've collapsed way worse than it did. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but sometimes you gotta spend money to keep the lights on.
