Why does nobody say that printing your boarding pass at the kiosk beats the app?
I used to check in on my phone for every flight out of O'Hare until my phone died at gate B12 last Tuesday and I had to beg a stranger for a charger. Now I print the paper pass at the kiosk every time, and I've missed zero flights since. Anyone else go back to paper or am I just old?
O'Hare T2 kiosks near the American check in have the little printer right there, so you can grab your pass in about 30 seconds. That said, your phone dying doesn't really mean paper beats the app, it means your battery died. If you keep a $10 backup charger in your bag the app works fine, and you skip the line at the kiosk. I do both actually, I check in on the app and if I'm checking a bag I print at the counter anyway. The paper pass is not what saved your flights, having a backup plan is.
