Can we talk about the neighbor who caught me scraping burnt rice off a pan at 11pm

My neighbor knocked on my door last Tuesday to borrow a whisk, saw me over a sink full of blackened rice, and just said 'that's how you know you're really cooking,' and honestly that one comment made me stop tossing every ruined pot for good, has anyone else had a total stranger reframe their fail that way?
