PSA: That $70 cast iron skillet from the flea market was NOT worth it

Picked up a supposedly vintage cast iron pan at a flea market in Nashville last month for 70 bucks. Got it home, stripped it with oven cleaner, and found a huge crack running along the bottom that must've been hidden under layers of seasoning. Tried to season it anyway and the oil just seeped through the crack into my oven, smoke everywhere. My wife was NOT happy about the fire alarm at 9pm. I could've bought a new Lodge for half that price and actually cooked with it. Anyone else get burned on "vintage" cooking gear that turned out to be junk?
