Shoutout to my neighbor Linda for saving my pasta bake

Last week I tried making a baked ziti and it came out dry as sand. My neighbor Linda from apartment 3B saw me looking defeated in the hallway and told me to reserve a cup of pasta water before draining. I thought she was crazy but I tried it again on Monday and added a splash before baking and it came out perfect. Has anyone else had a random tip from a stranger totally fix their dish?

Used just a splash, maybe a quarter cup. Linda would probably call the cops on me if I let her down again.
