That time I tried to deep fry a turkey in my apartment parking lot

Back in November, I thought it'd be a great idea to fry a 12-pound turkey in my complex's lot in Austin. Got a cheap propane burner and a 30-quart pot, filled it with peanut oil. Thing is, I didn't check the weather forecast first, and a wind gust blew the flame sideways. Melted half the plastic bumper on my neighbor's parked car before I could get the pot off the burner. Fire alarm went off across three units, and the landlord still brings it up at every lease renewal. Has anyone else had a holiday cooking plan go way sideways because of something as simple as a breeze?

Feel for you man, that wind can really mess things up. I tried grilling in a slight breeze once and ended up with half-raw chicken and a neighbor complaining about smoke. Sounds like you handled the chaos better than I would have.

Oh man, at least you didn't set your own eyebrows on fire like I did with a cherry pie last Thanksgiving!

Wait, but a cherry pie... unless you put a whole candle on it, that wouldn't really catch your eyebrows on fire. I think you meant a cherry bomb, maybe?
