My kid turned his nose up at Tuesday's chili, which was really Sunday's roast beef, so now it needs a new name
I shredded the leftover pot roast from Sunday night into Tuesday's chili and told my 9 year old it was smoked brisket, and he ate two bowls before my wife ratted me out, so what do you call it when you rename leftovers to get them eaten?
The brisket bit worked because he's never actually had smoked brisket, so he had nothing to compare it to. My uncle pulled the same trick with "tuna casserole" that was really leftover salmon, and it backfired once my cousin hit 12 and figured it out. Kids only buy the new name if the taste doesn't match something they already know they hate. So what did you land on calling it, and did the name stick after your wife blew the cover?
