The 11pm leftover curry rule that fixed my whole week
Last Tuesday I got off shift at 11pm and stared into the fridge like it owed me money. Half a jar of tikka masala sauce, some sad green beans, and a baked potato from Sunday. Normally I'd order a $16 delivery and hate myself. Instead I threw the potato in the microwave, chopped the beans, and mixed everything into the sauce. Ate it over the potato like a weird shepherd's pie. It took 6 minutes and tasted better than half the Indian places I've tried. Now every week I look at what's about to die in the crisper and build one 'cleanout plate' around the oldest sauce or protein I own. Has anyone else found that the most random combos work when you stop thinking about what goes together and just use what's there?
